What can the Internet do for you?
Since Congressman Robert Wexler couldn't get an Op-Ed published on the need for impeachment hearings against Vice President Cheney by any major newspaper, he decided to ask the people with an online petition... 143,139 (and counting) signatures later and whola, the printed Op-Ed.
Thankfully, someone other than Dennis Kucinich, who too easily can be written off as a whack job, is clearly stating the case for impeachment. Cheney has taken his interpretation of the Theory of Unitary Executive, outlined but never stated directly in his dissenting opinion on the Iran-Contra scandal, and married it illegally, in my eyes, to the "war on terror".
Believe me when I write, I take an impeachment hearing very seriously and wouldn't support such action unless I believed that the actions taken by Vice President Cheney, as outlined in the Op-Ed, deserved such. Go ahead, sign the petition...
